Selfless Sewing for Children’s Hospital

This Valentine’s season, we’d like to encourage you to join us for a bit of selfless sewing. Inova Children’s Hospital reached out to us recently asking if we might contribute to their stock of handmade pillowcases that they give as gifts to their patients, as they are completely out of stock – they like to adorn each patient bed with a colorful pillowcase and blanket.

We think this is a wonderful idea, and we believe our compassionate community can help us to our goal of 100 pillowcases to donate.

Will you help us reach our goal?

Come sew with us on Monday, February 18th – our workspace will be open. Join us, free of charge, and sew a pillowcase or two. We’ll be available to help with minimal instruction if you’d like to try your hand at our favorite burrito method.

You may bring donations of completed, handmade pillowcases to the shop to add to our number.

We will have special Pillowcase Kits available at a price of $10 to encourage people to make a case or two. If you would like to purchase a kit to donate, the Shop Gang will gladly sew it up for you.

Our favorite tutorial can be found here, but feel free to use your own preferred method. We will be available for gentle guidance on Monday, but please be aware, this is not a class.

We hope you will join us in spreading some love to children in need!
