Kalle Shirtdress Roundup

For those of you who are following #sewmystyle2018 on Instagram or Facebook, you know that March’s pattern was the Kalle Shirt and Dress by Closet Case Patterns. Since this pattern was named after Kalle, this pattern is extra special to us here at Stitch. And between all the shop girls we’ve made quite a few different versions. Here are some of our favorites:

This Kalle dress was made in a navy tencel twill, which is one of our favorite fabrics for this pattern. Lots of drape with enough body to feel substantial.

And of course, you can’t go wrong with silk. This version is made with a printed silk twill. A little harder to work with, but oh so worth the effort.

This was the first version I personally made. It is made up in an Italian cotton 2×2, which has a sort of soft lightweight twill weave. We apparently have an obsession with blue Kalle dresses.

And for a completely different look, here is the crop version made up in a beautiful linen.

Lately we’ve been more into doing the tunic length. Here’s mine in a print cotton from Art Gallery Fabrics.

And here’s Kalle’s latest in an oxford cotton with some very fun gingham accents repurposed from one of her husband’s old shirts. This version uses the sleeve extension pack that is now available from Closet Case Patterns.

If you haven’t yet made your own Kalle, we encourage you to try it out!
