My love of Grainline Studios patterns is well documented – their Scout Tee & Linden Sweatshirt remain in heavy rotation in my handmade wardrobe, and the Willow Dress & Tank was a fast favorite this summer. So I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I’m already loving the newest pattern from Grainline, the Farrow Dress.
I chose an autumn colored Liberty of London Tana Lawn for my first Farrow, and made view B with the bracelet length sleeves. I did have to do a bit of adjusting to get the fit just right through the shoulders, but that’s a fairly standard adjustment for me (I have broad, square shoulders). After getting the fit just right, I was excited to try a new technique for setting the sleeves, and it worked so well! I can’t wait to share the new tricks with you in our class next month.
While the dress is not fitted below the bust, it is flattering and falls nicely away from the body, making it super comfy to wear. And those pockets! Such fun to sew, and really easy to wear.
