The\u00a0magic\u00a0occurs when you put on the sleeve of your preference.\u00a0The pattern\u00a0features a basic long sleeve, a puff long sleeve with button cuff and a 3\/4 box pleat sleeve with a cuff as well as a sleeveless version.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>The <a href=\"https:\/\/theassemblylineshop.com\/products\/multi-sleeve-midi-dress-short-sleeves-extension\">sleeve extension pattern<\/a> is a PDF that you can\u00a0purchase through the designer (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stitchsewshop.com\/print\/\">and then have it printed by us!<\/a>).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fabric Used:<\/strong><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5841 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/stitchsewshop.com\/development\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/melanie-multi-sleeve-midi-2-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>\n<p>Italian Cotton in Blue Brushstroke<\/p>\n<p><em>This fabric is no longer in stock, but we have some wonderful cotton\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shopstitchsewshop.com\/shop\/FABRIC.htm?search_keyword=shirting\">shirtings<\/a>, which are a similar weight.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Did you make a muslin?<\/strong><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5843 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/stitchsewshop.com\/development\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/melanie-multi-sleeve-midi-4.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/>\n<p>I did make a muslin, I made four, in fact!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>The first thing I noticed was that I needed an FBA.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>There was also some extra fabric in the back, which was hard to see and correct on myself.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>After doing the FBA, I made a second muslin and Shop Girl Mary helped me with a rounded back adjustment and we added some width to the skirt.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The 3<sup>rd<\/sup> muslin still showed wrinkles in the back and some position issues with the darts.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I did a narrow back adjustment and some repositioning for the 4<sup>th<\/sup> muslin and was happy with the fit.<\/p>\n<p>I know that may sound like a lot of work, but it was definitely worth it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>To save time and fabric, I only did a muslin of one sleeve and enough of the skirt to fit over my hips.<\/p>\n<p>By doing only 1-2 adjustments at a time I was able to see what the issues clearly were.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Had I done everything at once, it may have overcorrected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did you make any alterations to the pattern?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the 1<sup>st<\/sup> muslin, I did decide to lower the neckline.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Which was just a personal preference.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In doing so, I found I no longer needed the invisible zipper.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Just to be safe I did add a button closure at the back neck.<\/p>\n<p>I also added a belt\/tie to add some definition to my waistline. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Did you learn any new techniques\/skills?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I learned a lot more about fitting.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I had a basic understanding of techniques, but it was a good experience to walk through them.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5844 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/stitchsewshop.com\/development\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/melanie-multi-sleeve-midi-5.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/>\n<p><strong>Do you have any tips for construction?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When finishing the neck facing, I first sewed the facing and the interfacing right sides together using a \u00bc\u201d seam allowance, clipped the curves and then turned and pressed the interfacing to the wrong side.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This gave the facing a nice clean edge.
