Currently lessons are limited to two hours per session.<\/p>\n<p>Small group (up to two) lessons are also available; please call the shop to discuss.<\/p>\n<p>Please see our Frequently Asked Questions list below for more details.<\/p>\n<h2>Lesson FAQ<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What can I work on in a lesson?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Almost anything!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Whether you are trying to learn the basics of sewing, need help getting started on a project, or just can\u2019t figure out what your pattern instructions are saying, we can help.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>When are you able to hold lessons?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>We can schedule lessons for any time of the day when we have an instructor available. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>This can change from day to day, but generally speaking, we have the most availability on weekdays between 11 am &#8211; 5 pm. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>There is some evening availability (from 5 pm &#8211; 7 pm) on Mondays and Fridays. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>We also have some lesson time available on Saturdays and Sundays, depending on our class schedules.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>(Lessons cannot overlap with classes.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>How do I set up a lesson?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The best way to schedule a lesson is to call the shop at 571.777.8783.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Anyone who answers can assist you.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ll ask you questions about your experience and the project you are planning in order to make sure we schedule you with the right instructor and for the correct amount of time.<\/li>\n<li>You can also come into the shop and schedule a lesson in person.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re unable to stop by or call, you can email us at hello@stitchsewshop.com.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What is the lesson rate?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Individual lessons are $45\/hour.<\/li>\n<li>We also offer small group lessons at a rate of $35\/hour per person.<\/li>\n<li>We take payment at the time the lesson is scheduled.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Without payment, we\u2019re unable to hold the lesson time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>How much time can I schedule for my lesson?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Lessons are typically one to two hours long.<\/li>\n<li>Our Primer lesson (learning to use a sewing machine) and Serger Basics lesson (learning how to use the serger\/overlocker) each only require one hour.<\/li>\n<li>When you call to schedule your lesson, we can recommend a length of time based on your project and goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Can I schedule a lesson for my child or teen?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>We allow children as young as 9 years old to take lessons.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We ask that a parent is here with the child during the lesson time, for at least the first meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Teens do not need a parent to be present for lessons.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>(Note: our group classes are for adults 18+, but if you think your teen is ready for a class, please give us a call to discuss possible options!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Can I bring my own machine?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes, you may bring your own machine to individual lessons, but you are not required to.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We have machines in our workspace (Bernina 330 and 350) that we use for instruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What do I need to bring with me to a lesson?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>You\u2019ll need to bring all of the materials required for your project, including: fabric, pattern, tracing paper, thread, machine needles, zippers, buttons, etc.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We also sell all of these items, so you can purchase anything you need at the shop!<\/li>\n<li>Our workspace is stocked with most of the standard sewing tools you will need while you\u2019re here: pins, scissors, rulers, rotary cutters, marking tools, etc.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>While it\u2019s not necessary, you may bring your own tools if you prefer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wrap cf\">\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Individual Lessons $45 per hour You choose the project, and we help you achieve your goal.
