Bodice Fitting Basics :: The Camber

Bodice Fitting Basics :: The Camber

This 5 part series is the perfect follow up to our Beginner Series. In this class you will learn basic garment making techniques used in fitting, constructing, and finishing a woven top. We will be using The Camber Set pattern from Merchant & Mills to make a top with bust darts and set in sleeves.

We will start out by making a muslin (a test garment) to assess fit issues that may need to be made, including moving bust darts, full or small bust adjustments, shoulder adjustments, and length. You will learn how to make the adjustments that pertain to your needs and how to transfer those changes to your pattern.

Once you have a satisfactory muslin, we will spend the rest of the class learning how to construct the blouse. You will learn how to sew darts, set in sleeves, finish necklines, and hem.

This class is Level IISee information about our class levels here.

A copy of the pattern is included. The Camber Set is available in two size ranges: UK 8 – 18 and UK 20 – 28 (up to a 55″ bust).
