Garment Sewing :: An Introduction

Learn frequently used sewing terminology and advance your sewing skills, all while making a comfy pair of pajama pants.

In this introductory class, you will learn:

  • how to read a commercial sewing pattern
  • how to select the correct size
  • pattern tracing, marking, and cutting
  • laying out pattern pieces on fabric
  • cutting fabric
  • seam finishing
  • elastic casing
  • hemming

Two sessions, three hours each.

This class is Level I.

This class may also be taken as part of our popular Beginner Series.

Sundays, July 17 & 24, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Wednesdays, July 20 & 27, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

 

Classes are for adults 18+.  We offer individual lessons for those younger.

All participants will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to take this class.  Masks are required for everyone inside the shop at all times.  Anyone who does not comply with these rules may be removed from the class without a refund.

Cancellation Policy : Any cancellations or changes to your registration must be done at least 72 hours prior to the class start date in order to be issued a class credit. Cancellations that are made less than 72 hours before the class start date, and students who do not show up to class, will forfeit their registration payment. By continuing with class registration, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
